China's pork production grew in 1H of 2026

Pork production grew by 3.3% in the first half of the year while the swine herd remained stable.

In the first half year, the output of pork, beef, mutton and poultry was 50.50 million tons, up by 4.3% year on year. Of this total, the output of pork grew by 3.3% and and poultry grew by 9.4%. Beef and mutton dropped by 1.0% and 3.9% respectively.

At the end of the second quarter, the number of pigs registered in stock was 424.91 million, up by 0.1% year on year; and 372.46 million pigs were slaughtered, up by 1.7% in the first half of the year.
