The European Commission presents measures to help farmers facing sharply rising fertiliser costs and to support Europe's food security, delivering on the recently announced Fertiliser Action Plan.

Argentina reduces export duties on wheat and barley starting in June and establishes a schedule of reductions for other grains starting in 2027.

A joint report by four international organizations warns that without sustained state investment and technological innovation, the region will not be able to guarantee its food security.

This marks the best performance for the first four months of 2026. In addition, both the value and volume of shipments increased by 16% and 18%, respectively, compared to the first four months of 2025, to more than 125 destinations.

While both exports and imports have declined slightly compared to last year, lower import values contributed to an improvement in the monthly trade balance.

The European Commission has approved a €500 million aid package for Spain to support farmers affected by rising fertilizer prices.

Several Member States consider the European fertilizer plan to be insufficient and are calling for more aid, faster action, and structural measures.

In this first estimate for the 2026/27 season, corn is facing a production adjustment following the record figures of the previous season, with declines in the U.S. and Argentina that gains in Brazil and China are unable to fully offset. Soybeans, by contrast, begin the new season with a more encouraging outlook: simultaneous growth in Brazil, the U.S., and Argentina would push global production to a new all-time high.

The "Fair Price" scheme involves 61,000 producers from seven states and more than 80 companies in the agribusiness chain.

The Council decided today to suspend for one year customs tariffs on key nitrogen-based fertilisers used in agricultural production in the EU.

Red meat exports delivered significant returns to corn and soybean producers in 2025, according to an independent study conducted by the Juday Group and released by USMEF.

With 90% of the early corn already harvested, the core region is consolidating a historic season with average yields of 11 tons/hectare and an estimated production of 20.35 million tons. Soybeans are also progressing towards the end of the season with positive results.

The European Commission presents a plan to support farmers, improve access to fertilisers, and strengthen sustainable production in Europe.

From January to April, exports totaled 40.24 million tons, the highest volume ever recorded for the period.

The objective is to deepen and strengthen the bilateral relationship in agricultural and sanitary matters.

Animal feed production in Colombia reached a record high of 13.2 million tons in 2025, with pig farming consolidating its position as the second most important destination for the industry, above livestock, pets, and aquaculture.

The Argentine pork sector continues to experience sustained growth in both production and slaughter.

In the April report, the outlook for corn is positive due to the recovery in the U.S., Argentina, and Ukraine, as well as increased trade. For soybeans, however, the outlook is tighter: growth in Brazil and Paraguay does not offset declines in Argentina and the U.S., leaving supply virtually unchanged.

The Director General of the organization addressed the IDB on the structural vulnerability of the Latin American agri-food systems and the urgency of transforming its productive base.

U.S. farmers plan to reduce corn acreage and increase soybean planting in 2026, while grain stocks rise across major crops.

The EU Agriculture Council focuses on markets, trade and costs, highlighting resilience, trade safeguards and energy pressures.

The latest update points to greater corn availability driven by the USA and Ukraine, together with a stable soybean supply supported by the strong performance of Brazil and Paraguay.
