After several years of joint efforts between the production sector and animal health authorities, the Philippines has authorized the import of Colombian frozen pork, significantly expanding commercial opportunities for the national industry in one of Asia’s most dynamic markets.
The market opening covers not only pork by-products but also frozen pork meat, a step that strengthens Colombia’s international presence and creates new growth opportunities for domestic producers.

This achievement is the result of a rigorous sanitary evaluation process. In the final stage of the negotiations, between October 25 and November 9, 2025, Philippine animal health authorities conducted visits and audits at four Colombian pork processing plants, verifying compliance with the standards required for export.
The market approval was made possible through the coordinated efforts of PorkColombia, the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA), the National Institute for Food and Drug Surveillance (Invima), the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, and the exporting companies involved in the process.
