Paraguay made its first shipment of pork to the Philippines, according to the National Animal Health and Quality Service (SENACSA). The shipment, which took place on July 9, 2026, consisted of 27,002 kilograms net weight (28,010 kilograms gross weight) of bone-in baby back ribs.
The health agency attributed the opening of this market to its efforts to establish new export destinations for Paraguayan animal products. According to SENACSA, this initiative strengthens the country’s position as a supplier of safe, high-quality food to the Asian market.
The initial projection calls for shipping one container per month to the Philippines, a figure that, according to the agency, reflects the growth potential of this new trade destination. SENACSA also highlighted the joint efforts between the public and private sectors to continue expanding the presence of domestic pork production in Asian markets.
So far in 2026, Paraguay has exported 8,721,651 kilograms of pork products and byproducts, with a FOB value of over USD 25.5 million, according to figures cited by SENACSA, highlighting the sustained growth of the Paraguayan pork sector and its increasing presence in international markets.
