Brazilian production of chicken, pork, and eggs is expected to end 2026 at levels higher than those recorded last year. This growth will be accompanied by an expansion of supply in the domestic market and increased per capita consumption of the three proteins. The new projections from the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA) were presented during a press conference held in São Paulo (SP).
National pork production could total up to 5.870 million tons in 2026, an increase of up to 5% over the 5.592 million tons recorded in 2025.
Pork exports could grow by up to 5.9%, increasing from 1.510 million tons in 2025 to up to 1.600 million tons in 2026.
In the domestic market, protein availability is expected to increase by up to 4.6%, reaching approximately 4.270 million tons, compared to 4.082 million tons in 2025. Per capita consumption could reach 20 kilograms per inhabitant, compared to 19.1 kilograms last year.
For 2027, ABPA projects production of up to 6.050 million tons and exports of up to 1.700 million tons, with increases of up to 3.1% and 6.3%, respectively.
Domestic availability is expected to be close to 4.35 million tons, while per capita consumption could reach 20.4 kilograms per inhabitant, representing growth of up to 1.9%.
