Argentina sets new record in the agro-industrial sector with the highest export volume

This marks the best performance for the first four months of 2026. In addition, both the value and volume of shipments increased by 16% and 18%, respectively, compared to the first four months of 2025, to more than 125 destinations.

The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries of the Ministry of Economy reports that agro-industrial exports reached a record volume of 41.07 million tons in the first four months of 2026, representing an 18% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

Of the 54 product groups (primary products and their derivatives) that account for this significant impact on trade, the following stand out in terms of volume: sunflower seeds, with a 169% increase; wheat, with a 75% increase; fish, with a 28% increase; dairy products with a 24% increase; heavy vegetables with a 20% increase; and legumes with a 42% increase.

Similarly, although volumes are lower for the main export products, there have been very significant increases in beekeeping (84%); tobacco (83%), forage crops (78%), pork (78%), cotton (73%), rapeseed (55%), sour citrus fruits (50%), and aromatic herbs (41%), among other sectors.

Exports totaled $17,095 million, also up 16% from 2025, with shipments to more than 125 countries, according to data processed by the Undersecretariat of Agri-Food Markets and International Integration, based on figures from the National Institute of Statistics and Census.

The main export destinations were: Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Algeria, Indonesia, Peru, Egypt, Bangladesh, Malaysia, and Chile. These 10 destinations accounted for more than 53% of total export volume. Significant increases were observed in various destinations: 77 saw increased purchases compared to 2025. Among them were Bulgaria, Thailand, Romania, Guatemala, France, Canada, Singapore, the Dominican Republic, Turkey, and Morocco, among others, which saw sales increases well over 100%.
