Brazil has assumed the presidency of the Latin American and Caribbean Climate Action Platform for Agriculture (PLACA), following the Annual Assembly held in Lima, Peru.

During the meeting, which brought together representatives from the 19 member countries and FAO officials, Guatemala was also elected as the new co-presidency and will assume the Platform's presidency in 2027.

The Assembly also approved the Work Plan for the period July 2026–June 2027 and the regional priorities leading up to COP31, with a particular focus on expanding climate finance opportunities for the agricultural sector.

Brazil will highlight its experience in sustainable and low-carbon agriculture, based on the results of the ABC Plan and the current phase of the ABC+ Plan.
