Estimates from Cepea, based on preliminary data from IBGE, indicate a peak in pork production between July and September. According to the Research Center, protein prices generally rise at the end of the year, but this possible oversupply of meat may limit price increases during this period.

Also according to Cepea, the swine sector traditionally registers higher meat production in the third quarter, when agents prepare to meet the increased demand at the end of the year in domestic and international markets, and this trend should continue into 2026.

Cepea researchers recall that the oversupply of meat in the independent market has been observed for much of this year, which has pressured animal and cut prices to historically low levels.
