SPACE 2026 closed its doors on 17 September after three days dedicated to meetings, exchanges and innovation in the livestock sector. This year marked a special milestone for the International Livestock Trade Fair in Rennes, which celebrated its 40th edition.

According to figures released by the organisers, this year’s event welcomed 100,107 visitors, the same attendance figure announced for 2025. The show also brought together 1,019 exhibitors, one third of them international.

Over the three days, the Rennes Parc-Expo once again became a meeting point for professionals from the different livestock sectors, providing a forum to discuss the technical, economic and environmental developments transforming livestock farming.

Water at the heart of the 40th edition

One of the main themes of SPACE 2026 was sustainable water management. This was the topic chosen for the Espace pour Demain, developed by SPACE and the Brittany Chamber of Agriculture.

Drought, water availability, livestock drinking water, water recovery and reuse, and the adaptation of production systems were among the topics addressed through demonstrations, technical workshops and round-table discussions.

The pig sector was directly concerned. The programme included sessions on water supply for pigs, their water requirements and the choice of drinking equipment, as well as the collection, storage and reuse of roof water on pig farms.

32 innovations recognised by Innov’Space

Innovation also played a prominent role during the 40th edition. Of the 78 entries submitted, the Innov’Space jury recognised 32 innovations: 26 received one star and six received two stars. During the awards ceremony, three of these innovations also received the special “3-star” distinction.

The 2026 awards particularly highlighted the growing role of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, the dynamism of agricultural machinery, and the development of solutions related to animal health and biosecurity.

The show programme was complemented by around one hundred conferences, meetings and round-table discussions covering topics such as biosecurity, energy independence, traceability and economic performance.

See you in 2027

Following its 40th edition, SPACE has already announced the dates for its next event. The 41st edition will take place from 14 to 16 September 2027 at the Rennes Parc-Expo.
