Dedicated to sustainable energy for a quarter of a century: WELTEC BIOPOWER is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2026, looking back on an impressive track record. Since its foundation in 2001, the company, based in Vechta, has evolved from a specialist plant manufacturer into an internationally sought-after full-service provider of biogas and biomethane plants.
Today, WELTEC BIOPOWER carries out projects all over the world – from planning and construction through to commissioning and bespoke service packages. With over 450 energy plants built in 27 countries, the company is renowned for its international experience, technological expertise and reliable project delivery.

A key factor in our success is our unwavering focus on quality and customisation. Thanks to in-house development and the use of proven stainless steel technology, we produce durable, robust systems that are tailor-made to meet our customers’ specific requirements and substrates. This approach ensures not only efficiency but also long-term cost-effectiveness. Over the past 25 years, WELTEC BIOPOWER has evolved alongside a market that has undergone fundamental changes. While the initial focus was primarily on agricultural biogas plants, industrial applications are now becoming increasingly important. Processing organic residues from the food industry, waste, or sewage sludge requires complex technical solutions.
Recognising this shift early on, WELTEC BIOPOWER has expanded its portfolio to include everything from sanitisation and material separation to the efficient processing of fermentation residues, offering comprehensive solutions for the modern demands of the circular economy.
The company has also laid important structural foundations for the future. Following the sale of its plant construction division, WELTEC BIOPOWER now focuses exclusively on developing, designing and constructing innovative biogas plants. This core business is complemented by a comprehensive range of services designed to ensure consistently high plant performance and operational reliability.
The company is managed by owner Jens Albartus and managing directors Dirk Krumdieck (responsible for sales and marketing) and Tobias Gerweler (head of the technical division). Together, they shape the company’s strategic and operational development.
With its clear positioning as an independent technology provider, its own technical rights and long-standing, reliable partner networks, WELTEC BIOPOWER remains true to its mission: innovative and cost-effective solutions “Made in Germany” for international markets.
In light of the growing demand for climate protection, a circular economy and a sustainable energy supply, the company sees significant potential for growth in the coming years. The conversion of organic waste into energy is becoming increasingly important worldwide, and WELTEC BIOPOWER is well placed to play an active role in this development.
