Over the last 20 years of serving producers in the Latam market, our goal has been to help producers improve performance and increase productivity.

Recent years have presented both challenges and opportunities to Latin American markets. While each country has its own particular challenges and different goals—whether it’s meeting domestic demand or reaching the growing exports market—they all have one thing in common: the need for better productivity.

We still see markets in Latam only growing their pigs to 95-100 kgs while the global market is trending toward heavier weights. If those countries are interested in closing export contracts, they’ll need to transition to the reality of market weights approaching 120kgs. Over the last 20 years of serving our customers in the Latam market, Crystal Spring has been active in the growth and transition of trends. Our goal through it all has been to introduce solutions that will help Latam producers perform better and be more productive.

It’s been proven that wet/dry feeding promotes faster and healthier goals for pigs in all phases and that using our feeders for better management of feed flow and water flow contributes to better performance and heavier market weights.

Our Adaptive-Flow™ technology—currently available in all our wet/dry feeders and several of our watering products—was created to solve specific challenges faced by our customers. It is the very first nipple designed specifically for wet/dry feeding, and it allows feeder nipples to adapt to variable barn water pressures in order to provide precise and consistent water flow.

This simplifies feeder management, decreases management cost, and decreases feed and water wastage, which translates into increased profitability for producers. Research and data show that we can get up to 40% less water disappearance and up to 2,5% better feed conversion just by minimizing wastage.

Whether the producers’ goals are to provide for their domestic markets or to export to Asia or Europe, we understand that the market imposes enough challenges—from raw material costs to pig health challenges and day-to-day production management. So our goal is to make the feeder the simplest piece of equipment in the barn and allow producers to spend their time focusing on more relevant activities.
