Hien Thanh Le

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Hien is currently the head of department of infectious diseases and Veterinary public health in Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine- Nong Lam University. He got his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Nong Lam University, HCMC in 1999 and then had been working there as a researcher. From 2003 – 2005, he studied in University of California (USA) for his master’s degree in Preventive Veterinary Medicine and then he went to University of Guelph (Canada) for his doctoral degree specializing in veterinary epidemiology with his thesis about PRRS mathematical modelling.

From 2012, he went back Vietnam and became a lecturer in Nong Lam University HCMC. Here he has been teaching many subjects including Veterinary Epidemiology, Vet Public Health, Zoonotic Disease. Till now, he has published many research papers in veterinary epidemiology and written 2 textbooks. In term of swine health, his recent research focus on epidemiology of PRRS, Edema disease, Ileitis, Biosecurity. Beside teaching and doing research, he has been participating into many international projects relating to one health and zoonotic diseases. He is also an active pioneer in one health activities in Vietnam One Health University Network.
