Biochem today announced the commercial release of TechnoMos® Intense, a prebiotic feed material engineered to improve gut health and microbiota balance across livestock species. Manufactured from the purified, autolyzed cell walls of primary-grown Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast, the formulation combines a higher mannan-oligosaccharide (MOS) concentration with an ultra-fine particle size.
TechnoMos® Intense supports pathogen control by blocking bacterial colonization and supporting natural immune defenses. Its reduced particle size increases the active physical surface area, improving dispersibility and preventing product sedimentation in liquid feeding systems. Within the digestive tract, MOS molecules bind directly to the type 1 fimbriae of harmful gram-negative bacteria, including E. coli and Salmonella spp. This mechanism may limit gut wall colonization, allowing the complex to pass safely through the animal while favoring beneficial microbiota like lactobacilli and bifidobacteria. The presence of -glucans provides immunomodulatory effects that reinforce overall disease resistance.

The enhanced physical characteristics allow feed mill operators to incorporate higher functional MOS concentrations into diets without altering processing protocols or feed uniformity. TechnoMos® Intense is suitable for integration into various feeding regimens across poultry, swine, ruminant, and aquaculture species.
“As livestock production focuses on sustainable well-being and performance strategies, functional feed ingredients must deliver high bioactivity with physical handling reliability in feed mills,” said Katrin Grothaus, Head of Product Management & Regulatory Affairs at Biochem. “TechnoMos® Intense combines an elevated concentration of active yeast components with improved dispersibility, enabling our partners to achieve consistent gut health management in high-performance production systems.”
TechnoMos® Intense is available immediately through Biochem's global distribution network and regional subsidiaries. Technical specifications and trial performance data are available from local company representatives.
