WelFarmers presented at the EVCBMAW congress in Ljubljana

Ljubljana, Slovenia — The WelFarmers project was presented through a poster at the European Congress of Veterinary Clinical Behavioural Medicine and Animal Welfare (EVCBMAW), held on 1–2 October 2026. The poster was presented by Saara Junttila and Anna Valros from the University of Helsinki. It featured two of the project's winning practices as examples: the SAPARO application from Finland, for tail-biting risk assessment and follow-up, and The Mama Guide from Denmark, for loose housing of sows during farrowing and lactation.

The congress is organised by ESVCE, ECAWBM and AWSELVA. It brings together researchers, clinicians, students and policymakers working in animal behaviour, welfare, ethics and law. The event gave WelFarmers a good opportunity to reach the veterinary and scientific community beyond the pig sector.
