WelFarmers showcased at the Irish Pig Health Symposium 2026
Kildare, Ireland — WelFarmers was represented at the Irish Pig Health Symposium 2026, held on Tuesday, April 14th in Kildare, Ireland, where the project was featured at the Teagasc stand.
During the event, several of the infographics developed from the Good Practices identified in Round 1 were shared with farmers and stakeholders attending the symposium. These materials aim to present practical, easy-to-understand solutions that can support the improvement of pig welfare on farms across Europe.
A highlight of the event was the recognition of Jason McGrath and his colleagues from Ashleigh Farms, who were awarded a plaque and certificate for their Good Practice “Loose Lactation & Piglet Commingling”. This practice has been selected as one of the Round 1 winners within the topic Ban of Cages.
The Irish Pig Health Symposium brought together professionals from across the pig sector, offering a valuable opportunity to share knowledge, exchange experiences and promote innovative approaches to animal welfare.
