Rabies is a rare viral disease in pigs.

Description

It is caused by a virus and it is considered a rare disease in pigs. It is lethal in all species, including humans, so it is important to consider. In several countries it is not seen.

Sows, lactation, nursery, and fattening

  • Rare.
  • Twitching of facial muscles.
  • Rapid chewing.
  • Salivation.
  • They can have muscle spasms.
  • Subsequent paralysis may occur.
  • Death usually occurs within three days.

 

  • The rabies virus is spread by contact with wildlife.

 

  • Check with your veterinarian immediately.

  • There is no treatment.
  • Ensure humans are not exposed to rabies.
