China imported 1.15 million tonnes of pork meat and offal between January and June 2025, according to data published by the General Administration of Customs of China. This figure represents a 3.6% increase compared to the first half of 2024, when imports reached 1.11 million tonnes. Although the growth is not particularly large, it marks a reversal of the downward trend observed in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023.
Of the 1.15 million tonnes of pork products imported by China in the first half of 2025, 620,000 tonnes were offal, accounting for 54% of the total. This share confirms the consolidation of offal as the dominant category within the country’s pork imports. In addition to the 3.3% year-on-year growth compared to 2024, historical trends reinforce this pattern: in 2020, offal accounted for only 25% of total pork imports in both the first half and the full year, and its share has increased steadily, stabilising above 50% over the past two years.
