In a bid to revitalise the livestock sector, the Federal Government of Nigeria has announced a strategic partnership with key stakeholders.

This collaboration was formalised during a stakeholder meeting held on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2025, at the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI). The event was organised by the ACCI in partnership with the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA). The meeting was convened as part of preparations for the forthcoming Trade Fair, Exhibition, and Animal Livestock Development Summit.

The session focused on consolidating partnerships between the government and industry stakeholders with the aim of advancing livestock development and strengthening Nigeria’s agricultural value chain.

The representatives of the Federal Government speaking at the meeting reassured participants that all bottlenecks hindering the agricultural sector’s growth including those affecting livestock production, would be addressed.

The partnership is expected to foster closer cooperation with both local and international stakeholders to achieve key development goals which place an emphasis on the importance of the initiative as stated by the officials that “Livestock farming is a significant part of Nigeria’s agricultural sector and contributes notably to the country’s economy.”

This renewed collaboration signals a major step towards unlocking the potential of Nigeria’s livestock industry, improving productivity and boosting its contribution to national economic growth.
