South Africa is set to receive one million doses of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine from Argentina as part of a large-scale procurement drive to strengthen national outbreak response. The delivery forms the first phase of a wider supply agreement with several million additional doses expected in the coming weeks to bolster vaccination capacity across affected regions.
Further supplies are also being sourced from international partners with millions of doses scheduled to enter the country by the end of March. Authorities have established a National control centre to support farmers with guidance on disease management and response measures, as efforts intensify to contain outbreaks and protect livestock production.
