How to wash your hands properly

In this article we share the WHO guidelines for hand hygiene, which is a very important part of the daily operation of a pig farm. Incorrect washing leaves behind dirty areas as you can see in this picture:

• Wash your hands with soap and water when they are visibly dirty, or if they have come into contact with blood or other bodily fluids, or after using the toilet.
• If there has been exposure to possible spore-forming pathogens, including Clostridium difficile, or if exposure is expected, hand washing with soap and water is recommended.
• The use of an alcohol-based solution is the method of choice for routine hand disinfection if hands are not visibly soiled. If an alcohol-based solution is not available, wash with soap and water.
