United States: pork prices will include a wider range of weights

Beginning Tuesday, July 1, 2014 AMS Market News will make a change to the live weights on the negotiated section of the purchase reports. The current weight includes barrows and gilts in the 240-300 pound range. As of July 1 the report will included barrows and gilts falling in the 240-320 pound range.

The new weight spread better represents the current hog industry and continues the Market News mission of providing market clarity.
