Denmark: the new Minister of Agriculture proposes an improvement of animal welfare on pig farms

The new Danish Minister of Agriculture, Dan Jørgensen, proposes significant changes in Danish pig production. According to the new Minister, pig production presents the biggest animal welfare problem in Denmark.

Jørgensen plans holding a meeting with the different animal welfare organisations, experts and politicians in order to develop an action plan that is expected to be ready in a few months.

The voices in favour of the improvements that the Danish pig producers have been carrying out for years have not taken long to be heard.
