CEVA in APVS 2013 - The Asian Pig Veterinary Society Congress

This congress is organized by Nong Lam University (NLU) and Vietnamese Veterinary Association (VVA).

The scientific program will include many keynotes from famous experts, and recent studies of researchers from all over the world.

On the 23rd Sept morning, the presentations will be country reports (from Japan, Korea, China, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam):

• Pig production and health in Japan;
• Swine production and diseases in Korea;
• The current status of pig industry in China;
• Philippines: swine industry report 2012;
• FMD free zone in the eastern region of Thailand: Preceding vision, continuous attempt and upcoming achievement of Thai pig industry;
• Diseases control in Vietnam.

And the 24th Sept morning, it will be keynote lectures (concerned with FMD, PRRS, PCV2 and Pig Health & Productivity):

• Foot and mouth disease in Southeast Asia;
• Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS): Laboratory to field approaches;
• Update on porcine circovirus infections and control strategies;
• PRRSV infection - immunity and control;
• Solutions to control of PRRS and PCV2;
• Pig health and productivity - A potential role for yeast-derived mannans.

In the evenings, it will be satellite symposium and parallel sessions in each zone. The topics will be focused on 5 sections: Production (management and husbandry, genetics, nutrition and immunity, feed and feeding, others), Swine Diseases (virus, bacteria, parasite/ fungi, others), Reproduction (advances in ai and ivf, reproduction disorders, lactation, others), Food Safety (residues, food-borne pathogens, risk analysis, others) and Practitioners (field experiences, case studies).
