Coloured pegs for the identification of the number of returns to oestrus of the sows

Goal

Identifying the number of returns to oestrus of the sows quickly and at a glance using coloured pegs.

Explanation

When a sow returns to oestrus, it is assigned the colour of the new batch, but it keeps the previous peg: the sows with 2 pegs = one return to oestrus; the sows with 3 pegs = 2 returns to oestrus, etc. In this way we obtain added information on the number of returns to oestrus undergone by the sow.

Sow that has undergone one return to oestrus: it has gone from the brown to the green batch.	Sow that has experienced 2 returns to oestrus: originally it pertained to the brown batch, then went to the green batch, and now it is in the red batch.

If the sow is empty, the card is placed vertically, keeping its coloured pegs.

When we have confirmed that the sows are pregnant (peg on the lower part of the card), it is a good idea to put the pegs towards one of the sides of the card. In doing so, the feed pipe downspout will not hide the peg, and we will also be able to see the production condition of the sow from behind.
