Chile: important increase in pig meat importations

Pig meat importations registered an increase by 47% during the first three months of 2013 in comparison with the same period of 2012.

The Pig Producers Association (Asprocer) requested to the CNDP, on May 2nd, a safeguard of 14.3% on the pig meat importations due to their huge increase since year 2009 that has caused significant damage to the swine national sector.
