Germany: principal slaughterhouses agree not to penalize non-castrated pigs

The three older abattoirs and pork processors of Germany (Tönnies, Vion and Westfleisch) have undertaken a joint statement to buy whole finishing pigs without any deduction in the price.

This will open the way to ending the practice of surgical castration so as not to discourage the production of intact males.
