FMD in Kazakhstan: epidemiological situation

According to the latest reports from the veterinary authorities of Kazakhastan sent to the OIE related to the FMD situation in the country, authorities in Kazakhastan have reported that FMD-related restriction measures on movement of animals held beyond the buffer zone of the Kurchum raion and Akzhaik raion were imposed by the Governor of the Kurchum raion of the East Kazakhstan oblast with effect from 12 October 2011 and by the Governor of the Akzhaik raion of the West Kazakhstan oblast with effect from 2 September 2011.
