25-May-2011 (15 years 13 days ago)The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is amending the brucellosis regulations concerning the interstate movement of swine by adding Texas to the list of validated brucellosis-free states.
In the May 19 Federal Register, APHIS said it has determined that Texas meets the criteria for becoming a validated brucellosis-free state, and this action relieves certain restrictions on the interstate movement of breeding swine from Texas.
Texas is the final state to achieve the validated brucellosis-free status for swine brucellosis.
