Seara transfers São José do Rio Preto unit's production to Jaguariúna

01-Mar-2011 (15 years 3 months 7 days ago)Marfrig Alimentos S.A. hereby informs its shareholders and the general market that on March 4, the process to transfer the entire operations for the production of industrialized products from the São José do Rio Preto industrial unit to the Jaguariúna plant will be concluded, as part of the process to reorganize and modernize the production chain of the Seara Division.
The Marfrig Group acquired the São José do Rio Preto unit in 2008, jointly with the assets of the company Da Granja. The plant has the capacity to produce 2,200 tons/month of industrialized products (bologna, wieners and sausages), which has already been fully absorbed by the Jaguariúna unit (8,200 tons/month).
The migration will improve productivity in the Seara division, reducing maintenance costs and bringing important benefits in terms of logistics. The remaining assets, including the lot measuring 65,000 square meters, have been put up for sale.
