Commissioner Dalli expressed the EC full satisfaction of Bulgaria’s measures against the FMD outbreakl. He made a commitment to provide financial compensation to the affected farmers under the maximum permitted by the Regulation 60%., However, of Bulgaria will additionally receive a significant financial package for the prevention of animal diseases and the implementation of a system for monitoring and control of epizootic diseases along the Turkish border. As regards the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency, the European Commission will offer technical and expert assistance to secure its activity.
