Prices of meat in Vietnam particularly pork, will increase between 15% and 20% from a year earlier during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday.

Growing demand and tighter supply of meat will drive up meat prices, Nguyen Thanh Son, deputy head of the ministry’s Department of Animal Husbandry said. He added that blue-ear disease has killed 500,000 pigs out of a total herd of 27.5 million in the country so far this year.
