The latest swine census data from the month of October shows a 5,3% decrease in Danish swine herds, in comparison with the same period last year, reaching its lowest level in 10 years with a total of just 12 million animals.

The number of pigs has been reduced by 5,0% in comparison with October of last year, with a 6,4% decrease in gestating sows and an 8,6% in primiparous sows. When compared with the July census, we can see that the swine population has been reduced by 3,9%. The decrease is justified due to upcoming the legislative changes for producers.
