02-Nov-2010 (15 years 7 months 7 days ago)Across all farm types, average farm business income was approximately 15% lower than in 2008/09 at £43,400. Although lower than the preceding two years, for many farm types average farm incomes for 2009/10 still represent an improvement on the historical levels seen earlier in the decade.
Incomes on specialist pig farms increased again – on top of the very marked increase in 2008/09 (up 22 percent). This was the result of firmer prices for pigmeat whilst input costs remained broadly similar.
