Brazil - Pork meat export sales fall, but its value rises

According to information published by Abiceps, so far this year, pork meat export sales have suffered an 8,15% decline in volume, going from 448.731 tons in the first nine months of 2009 to 412.168 tons in the same period of this year.

On the other hand, when referring to the value of exportation, it was worth more than 1 billion dollars (1009,148 millions of dollars), 13,66% above the value between January and September of 2009 ($ 887.864 million dollars).

The principal Brazilian markets are still Russia, Hong Kong, Ukraine, Argentina and Angola. As for Russia, sales in September fell by 11,02% in volume (22.812 tons) and the value rose by 12,48%.
