The Blue ear disease that has hit 13 provinces in Vietnam has resulted in a huge loss for farmers.

The disease infection, mortality and mass culling to contain the outbreak has also led prices to drop drastically as farmers rush to sell their pigs. These challenges coupled with soaring feed costs has caused nearly half of the pig producers in the Dong Nai province to abandon their business.
