Argentina – New structuring of the National Health and Agrifood Quality Service

With the objective of readying the organization of the National Health and Agrifood Quality Service (SENASA) for the challenge of strengthening the role of the state in animal and vegetable health, food safety and environmental health issues, decree 825/2010 was approved this past June.
By means of the decree, the National Office of Regional Operations, which will have under its responsibility the programs, plans and activities of the fourteen regional centres, created in 2006 in the process of decentralizing the organization. This office will be dedicated to the activities surrounding inspection, control, auditing, authorization, certification, and supervision of the animals, vegetables, products and sub products of the main production.
