Uruguay – Bovine meat is still the favorite

While meat consumption in the majority of countries is centered on chicken and pig meat, in Uruguay bovine meat dominates the market.

Bovine meat continues to be preferred by consumers in Uruguay, representing 63.5% of the total in 2009, followed by poultry (20.7%), porcine (9.4%) and ovine (6.3%).
