Japan notifies 86 new FMD outbreaks of serotype O

On 22 May 2010, emergency vaccination against FMD of all domestic susceptible animals kept in unaffected farms in movement control areas established within 10km around each affected farm, was started. As of 25 May, the total number of vaccinated animals was approximately 120, 000, which is about 95 percent of the targets.
