Chile will have the first swine research center in South America

According to reports published by the Agriculture and Livestock Service of the Government of Chile, after a year and a half of work and continuous meetings between the Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC), the Asociación de Productores de Cerdos chilena (Asprocer) and the Pig Improvement Company (PIC), last March was approved the construction of the first swine research center in South America was agreed, it will be situated in the locality of Pirque on the outskirts of Santiago.

The initiative plans the building of production panels, research laboratories and offices, on an area of one and a half hectares, destined to the use by students and professionals that wish to specialize in the area of swine production. The aim is to let Chile compete with the best in the world in this area.
