Cherkizovo was awarded the accolades for its meat products at the international “Best Product” Awards. The Awards are part of the ProdExpo International Food and Beverages Fair 2010, which is the largest annual food exhibition in Russia and Eastern Europe. “Best Product” Awards are held under the aegis of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation with the aim of supporting domestic producers. The Awards have long been considered one of the highlights of the ProdExpo exhibition, which is in turn regarded as a key event for the Russian food industry. 530 companies from Moscow and other regions of Russia and abroad took part in the Awards this year. Overall, 1800 companies from 57 countries attended the event.
Cherkizovo won the following awards in the category “Meat products”:
* Gold Medal - raw-cooked sausages “Mikhailovskaya” and “Lipetskaya osobaya”
* Silver Medal – boiled and smoked sausages “Balkanskaya” and “Moskovskaya po-cherkizovski”
As in previous years, Prodexpo 2010 drew a wide audience, including Elena Srynnik, the Russian Minister of Agriculture. The event carried a particular resonance this year given the preceding economic challenges, and the subsequent focus by producers on recovery and growth.
Sergei Mikhailov, CEO of Cherkizovo Group commented: “We are proud of our continued association with ProdExpo, which we regard as one of the most important events for the Russian food industry. Moreover we are delighted that our products have consistently won some of the highest accolades at this event from one year to the next, in recognition of their exceptional quality. We will strive to maintain this outstanding performance by continuing to offer our customers only great quality products.”
