18-Jan-2010 (16 years 4 months 20 days ago)Last week in Chile the law Nº 20,417 was passed through which the Ministry, the Environmental Evaluation Service and the Supervision of the Environment Board were created.
The new environmental institutionalism has been formed with five pillars of design: the Ministry of Environment, in the charge of political and regulatory definitions; the Supervision of the Environment Board, as a central institution of the integrated model of environmental control; the Environmental Evaluation Service, in the charge of environmental authorization management; the Environmental Tribune, which is contained in another project of law but which is intimately connected to the present reformation; and the Board of Ministries for Sustainability, as an institution for the debate of public policy.
