Brazil - Record meat exports for December

The meat sector was the leader in external sales of the agri-food sector for the month of December, with total exports to a value of 1,072 million dollars, which represents an increase of 22.8% compared to the same period of the previous year. This increase is due mainly to the exportation of fresh beef, pig and chicken meat. To be exact, pig meat exports increased in volume by 34.2%, with prices 9.4% lower this resulted in an increase in value of exports of 21.6%.
