The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food (MAPA) has reported new progress toward reopening markets for Spanish pork products affected by restrictions resulting from African swine fever (ASF).

In the case of Honduras, a new certificate (ASE-4080) has been approved that will allow pork exports to resume for products originating from outside the restricted zone, in accordance with the EU’s regionalization framework, provided that they have undergone a risk mitigation treatment in accordance with the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) Terrestrial Code. The certificate is pending digitization in CEXGAN (Spain's processing platform for veterinary certificates for livestock export).

For Ecuador, MAPA notes that the new ASE-4054 health certificate for the export of processed pork products has already been approved and is available on CEXGAN. In addition, the import of pork products that have undergone risk-mitigation treatments—such as heat treatments or drying and curing processes lasting at least six months—is permitted.

In the case of Ukraine, new certificates have been approved for pork (ASE-4064) and pork products (ASE-4063), allowing exports to resume provided certain sanitary conditions are met. The ASE-4063 certificate is currently being digitized.
