Russia recognizes Brazil as free of foot and mouth disease without vaccination

On June 10, Russian sanitary authorities announced the recognition of all of Brazil as free of foot and mouth disease without vaccination. This decision reflects Brazil's new health status granted by the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) and represents a significant step forward for the sanitary and trade agenda between the two countries.

The recognition, the result of joint work by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), is a result of the country's constant progress in animal health and confirms confidence in the Brazilian agricultural defense system.

The decision helps expand access for Brazilian products to the Russian market, especially for animal protein, and strengthens Brazil's position as a safe, reliable, and competitive supplier to international markets.
