Two official databases were used to compile this report:

Conclusions from the report:

Between 2021 and 2025, the national swine herd grew moderately, although it declined in 2025. Growth over the past five years was 12%. The sow herd remained relatively stable, settling at around 363,000 head. Over the past five years, a growth of 5.6% was observed.

The decline in the number of swine producers accelerated in both databases, particularly in the last two years. In the PS Database, the decline between 2021 and 2025 was 12.3%, equivalent to 1,736 fewer producers. In the PC database, the reduction was 38.5%, with 1,367 fewer producers. Production continues to be concentrated in a smaller number of larger-scale operations.
