Brazil: Near-record month for Santa Catarina pork exports

Santa Catarina exported 61,900 tons of pork (fresh, processed, and offal) in August, down 15.0% on the previous month and down 0.6% compared to shipments in August 2023.

Revenues amounted to US$150.3 million, down 14.1% on the previous month, but up 2.4% on August 2023. In terms of revenue, this is the second-best monthly result in the entire historical series, behind only July 2024.

From January to August, the state exported 466,000 tons of pork, with revenues of US$1.07 billion, an increase of 6.9% in volume, but a drop of 0.4% in revenue compared to the same period in 2023.

Santa Catarina has accounted for 57.6% of revenue and 55.7% of the volume of pork exported by Brazil this year.
