Brazil: Pig slaughter increases compared to the same period last year

In the second quarter of 2024, 14.55 million head of pigs were slaughtered, representing an increase of 2.4% compared to the second quarter of 2023 and an increase of 4.3% compared to the first quarter of 2024.

The cumulative weight of carcasses reached 1.34 million tons in the second quarter of 2024, representing an increase of 0.9% compared to the second quarter of 2023, and an increase of 4.8% compared to the first quarter of 2024.
