Consumer price index

According to the national consumer price index, in June general inflation increased 5.0% year-on-year.
The food, beverages, and tobacco sub-index increased by 6.2% in June, a rate much lower than that observed in June 2023 (7.9%).
Specifically for the livestock subsector, in June there were upward annual variations for beef (3.2%), pork (2.7%), chicken (3.2%), and eggs (3.5%).

Pig carcass prices for May increased 6.9% compared to the same month in 2023, reaching MXN 52.4/kg, while beef and chicken carcass values increased 2.8% and 8.5%, respectively.
