Poland: Change in ASF regionalization. Cases in new areas

The changes in regionalization concern the lifting of restricted areas in the provinces of Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Mazowieckie, and Łódzkie in the following counties:

• In the Kuyavian-Pomeranian voivodeship: the county of Wąbrzeźno, the municipalities of Dębowa Łąka, Płużnica, Ryńsk, and the city of Wąbrzeźno;
• Brodnica district, the municipalities of Swiedziebnia, Osiek, Gorzno, and Bartniczka, as well as the municipality of Brodnica including the city of Brodnica;
• Ripin county, the municipalities of Brzuze, Rogowo, Skrwilno, and Wąpielsk, as well as the municipality of Rypin including the city of Rypin.
• In Mazowieckie Voivodeship, the district of Sierpc, the municipalities of Rościszewo and Szczutowo, the district of Gostynin, the municipalities of Pacyna and Sanniki; the district of Płock, the municipalities of Bodzanów, Bulkowo, Gąbin, Mała Wieś, Słubice, Słupno, and Wyszogród.
• In Lodz province: Skierniewicki district, Bolimow municipality; Łowicki district, Nieborów, Kocierzew Południowy, Chąśno, Kiernozia municipalities and part of Łowicz municipality.

The changes in regionalization also apply to the transfer of restricted areas listed in Part II of Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2023/594 to Part I of that Annex:

• In Podlaskie province: Kolno county, the municipalities of Grabowo and Stawiski, as well as the municipality of Kolno including the city of Kolno. Kolno; wysokomazowiecki county, municipalities of Ciechanowiec, Klukowo, Kobylin-Borzymy, Nowe Piekuty, Sokoły, Szepietowo, and part of the municipality of Kulesze Kościelne; Białostocki county, municipalities of Zawady, Tykocin, Choroszcz, Łapy, Suraż, Juchnowiec Kościelny, Poświętne, and Turośń Kościelna; Bielski county, municipalities of Wyszki and Rudka, as well as gmina. Brańsk including the city of Brańsk; Siemiatycze county, the municipalities of Grodzisk and Perlejewo.
• in Mazowieckie Voivodeship: ostrowski county, the municipalities of Zaręby Koscielne, Małkinia Górna, Nur and Boguty-Pianki; sokolowski county, the municipalities of Kosów Lacki, Ceranów, Sterdyń, Sabnie, Jabłonna Lacka and Repki; garwolinski county, the municipalities of Borowie, Górzno, Miastków Kościelny and Żelechów.
• in the Lublin voivodeship: the county of Łuków, the municipalities of Trzebieszów, Stanin and Wola Mysłowska, as well as the municipality of Łuków including the city of Łuków and the municipality of Stoczek Łukowski including the city of Stoczek Łukowski.

Due to outbreaks of ASF in wild boars, it was necessary to expand the coverage of restricted areas II and I in the following provinces:

• Kujawsko-Pomorskie: transfer of Rogóźno municipality and part of Grudziądz municipality in Grudziądz district to restricted area II, establishment in part of Nowe municipality, part of Warlubie municipality and in Dragacz municipality in Świecie district of restricted area I,
• Pomorskie: transfer of part of the municipality of Nowy Dwór Gdański in the district of Nowy Dwór Gdański, part of the municipality of Nowy Staw and part of the municipality of Malbork in the district of Malbork and the municipality of Sadlinki in the district of Kwidzyn to restricted area II,
• Lower Silesia: transfer of part of the municipality of Pielgrzymka in the Zlotoryja district to restricted area II.

So far this year, 747 cases of the disease have been confirmed in wild boars in Poland. Click to go to the ASF map.
