Mexican pork imports up in the first two months of the year

Exports
Pork exports in the first two months increased by 3.9% compared to the same period in 2023, going from 31,938 to 33,187 t.
Export value (USD 135.9 million) increased by 7.2% and the average export price stood at USD 4,095/t.
Imports
Cumulative pork imports were 276,729 tons (t) at the end of the first two months, which represents an increase of 4.6% compared to the same period in 2023.
Around 800 tons of pork were imported from Brazil.
The cumulative value reached USD 538.2 million, resulting in an implicit price of USD 1,945/t and an increase of 1.7% compared to the average recorded in the first two months of 2023 (USD 1,912/t).
